Combined Philadelphia/Atlanta/International Gurdjieff Group Meeting are over Zoom.
The Philadelphia area Gurdjieff group, started in the early 70’s by Mr. Nyland’s students, is seeking members to study and practice Gurdjieff’s three-centered approach to self-development.
We welcome those interested in investigating the practice of Gurdjieff teachings to join us for Introductory meetings, currently over zoom either over zoom, by phone, or in-person if you are located near one of the Co-moderators of our Combined Philadelphia/Atlanta/International Gurdjieff Meeting.
Combined Philadelphia/Atlanta/International Gurdjieff Group Meeting was started during in the 2020’s. These Zoom meetings are typically held during the daytime on Wednesdays and Thursdays so that members across the USA and in Europe and our members further East can attend to discuss the practical application of Work as these teachings are called. We occasionally have introductory meetings on weekends.
Members of the Group also participate in additional day and evening zoom meetings with Mr. Nyland Groups across the USA and internationally to discuss the material presented in “All and Everything” or “Meetings with Remarkable Men” or other Gurdjieff writings, or to listen to recordings of the 2600 Meetings recorded by our teacher Mr. W.A. Nyland, who was a direct student of Mr. G. I. Gurdjieff, or listen to his piano improvisations, or participate in zoom or in-person Movements classes, or to listen to Gurdjieff’s music.
In addition to Zoom meetings the Philadelphia Group, when we are able to meet in person, get together to discuss our attempts to implement Work in our daily lives or work on projects together in order to put the fundamentals of Work on Oneself into practice in everyday life. To broaden the scope of our working together and take advantage of movements lessons, periodic trips are scheduled to The Institute for Religious Development in New York as well as California, Arizona, and other group locations.
Potential new members and former group members are welcome to join at any time.
