Introductory Gurdjieff Meetings

For those interested in the teachings of Mr. Gurdjieff, the late W. A. Nyland’s group is currently organizing an online discussion group aimed at explaining the fundamental principles of inner work and their practical application in everyday life.

Mr. Nyland had a close association with Mr. Gurdjieff for 25 years, from 1924 until Gurdjieff’s passing in 1949. Following the conclusion of the Second World War in Europe in 1945, Mr. Nyland and his wife were the first individuals to visit Mr. Gurdjieff in Paris. During this visit, Mr. Gurdjieff requested Mr. Nyland to initiate a small group in New York and subsequently provided weekly material directly to Mr. Nyland for this purpose. Groups under his guidance have continued since then.

The members of W.A. Nyland’s Gurdjieff Group are hosting a series of introductory meetings on Zoom starting in November, 2024. The discussions will focus on the relevance of Gurdjieff’s concepts to an individual’s spiritual progress in today’s complex and tumultuous world.

With over 50 years of immersion as a student and teacher of Gurdjieff’s principles, Mr. Nyland’s group remains an invaluable resource for the exploration and application of inner work. All interested individuals are encouraged to participate.
