The Land House Group
Located in the San Francisco Bay Area, the Land House group practices the application of the ideas of G. I. Gurdjieff and carries on this Work in the tradition established by Willem Nyland. Land House group meetings are held weekly at several locations, including San Francisco, Petaluma, and Palo Alto. Classes in the Gurdjieff movements are held weekly in San Francisco.Seventy miles North of San Francisco, and ten miles East of the Pacific Ocean, in the hills above the Russian River, the Land serves as the central point for all of Mr. Nyland’s groups in the Western part of America. Directed by long-term students of Mr. Nyland, the group holds monthly workdays at the Land, which provides an opportunity to practice the Gurdjieff Work in a simple setting and in conditions that support the struggle for inner life. Members from across the United States meet at the Land every Spring for an Intensive Work period.
